CEB ANNOUNCES ANNUAL SPIRIT OF CEB AWARDS
AT STATE BAR OF CALIFORNIA ANNUAL MEETING

Continuing Education of the Bar • California (CEB) announced the recipients of the annual Spirit of CEB Awards on September 11, 2009, in a luncheon cosponsored by CEB at the 82nd Annual Meeting of the State Bar of California in San Diego. Throughout the years, the key to the success of CEB's programs and publications has been the generosity of the attorneys who have volunteered to speak and write for CEB. These individuals—motivated by their love of teaching and dedication to improving their profession—have made an enduring contribution to the continuing education of attorneys through their work over the years. To acknowledge these contributors and their service to the legal profession, we initiated the "Spirit of CEB" Awards in 2005. These awards recognize the recipients' generous service to the legal community and to the community at large, as well as ongoing contributions to CEB publications and programs.

The recipients of these awards have helped CEB continue its tradition of providing insightful, practical guidance to the Bench and Bar, which elevates the practice of law. These awards are an acknowledgment of the selfless sharing of information by these colleagues for the betterment of the legal profession and the society it serves.

The 2009 Spirit of CEB Awards were given to eleven individuals representing seven law practice areas, all of them volunteer authors of CEB's legal publications or volunteer speakers at CEB's CLE seminars.

"We are indebted to these attorneys," said CEB Director Pamela Jester. "CEB's outstanding service to the California legal community would not have been possible without the generosity of the many attorneys who have volunteered to speak and write for CEB over the years. They make a significant contribution to the practice of law in California."
